As I saw Phelous uploaded his two reviews of the Silent Hill movie he originally uploaded a few years ago, I got to think about something that always pissed me off with the director... that he changed the gender of the parent looking for their daughter, despite it being a specific adaptation of the first game. Here's a quote from TV Tropes (link to article: tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php… If you're curious):
"The director changed the main character's gender because he felt like the main character of the video game was very feminine already because he cared about his daughter enough to look for her."
... yes, you read that right. According to Christophe Gans, it's masculine to not care about your daughter, and not give a shit about looking for her if she goes missing. No no, the "masculine" thing to do is to leave your kid to die.
If Christophe has any kids, I just want to say the following to them - I'm so sorry you got such a horrible dad who thinks it's his "masculine duty" to not care about you as he expects a woman to do. See, if a guy cares about rescuing his daughter, that makes him "feminine". So... if you're not feminine, you're an apathetic sociopath, and that's apparently what it means to be masculine.
Christoph Gans - I hereby proclaim you as one of the dumbest people on this planet.
Oh, and it wasn't a misquote or lost in translation or anything - I saw behind-the-scenes of the Silent Hill movie back when I owned it on DVD, and he actually DID say this bullshit.

You're not an artist if using AI generated images
Hey, long time no see. But it's about damn time I speak up. All artists and supporters of artists need to keep speaking up. AI generated images is not "art". Stop consider it art, stop calling it "AI art". Art is when something is created by us, not generated through an algorithm. By comparison, even your own created character in a character creator is art, because YOU created it. But with AI generated images, you just randomize things based on what you type in, and the generator uses already existing imagery to conjure up an approximation. Now, using AI image generators for inspiration or just for fun is great. I think in theory, it's a cool neat thing to use for whatever purpose you might see fit. However, the moment you call it art, and you consider yourself an ARTIST for using the AI image generator? THAT is when we are going to have a problem. You are not an artist if you don't put your own personal touch into something. Your own effort, talent, and creativity must have been
General update 2022/11/28
Are there still people around here? I haven't managed to work on a dedicated comic project for years now. I seem to just start projects I don't finish or even fully commit to. Like the "original universe comics" especially, I haven't done in two years now, and it's a dead project. That's all about to change though. I am working on something big. A fantasy adventure comic. It's going to focus on just a group of characters... a DnD-esque team, if you will. It is a huge, HUGE passion project of mine (despite the fact that it takes me forever to make it XP). I do not wish to reveal too much about it just yet, but... safe to say, it's a project I have a lot of love and passion for, and it's definitely NOT a project I will EVER abandon as long as I can help it. I am drawing it through MS Paint, doing my pixel art style. But this time, I will take full advantage of it. I am going to make it look and feel like an old-school RPG from the 80s or early 90s, combining it looking and feeling
I was accused of being a white supremacist
On the r/comics subreddit, someone made a comic showing a white dude criticising the new Ariel being black, while having a shelf full of movies with examples of whitewashing in them. I commented with this: "What a weird strawman. As far as I am concerned, I hate pointless raceswapping regardless of if it's whitewashing or blackwashing. What Disney is doing is fan baiting. They don't do this because they actually care." Then suddenly, I was permanently banned. I sent this comment in response to that: "Why did you ban me? :( I just pointed out my opinion and stating that the comic is strawmanning people having problems with raceswapping Ariel. Even if you think I broke a rule, isn't a PERMANENT ban a little bit extreme for ONE comment?" They said: "Racism is a permanent ban" I then said: "But I literally said I'm not a racist, and I pointed out the racism OF race-swapping?" As to which they responded with this: "No, you are a racist and your white supremacist nonsense isn't
I want to chat about X-Men comics with anyone
As I keep expanding my collection of X-Men comics, I would really like to find people to discuss X-Men comics and X-Men media in general such as the movies and shows and games. Including my Wolverine comics, these are all the comics I have so far: Wolverine Origin 1-2, Weapon X, X-Men: Uncanny Origin (AKA X-Men: Season One), Wolverine: Season One, Dark Phoenix Saga, Days of Future Past, God Loves Man Kills, Wolverine by Claremont and Miller, Mutant Massacre, Age of Apocalypse, and the first two volumes of Savage Wolverine. Thus far, the comics I have yet to get and plan to purchase in the near future are X-Men: Inferno and X-Tinction Agenda. But there's always room for more comics for me to consider purchasing. So yeah, anyone at all who's interested in just chatting about X-Men stuff with me, please don't hesitate to leave a comment on this journal, or send me a chat message through my profile. :)

Apparently this guy has never been a father... -_-; News flash: Being a father and caring deeply for your kids is NOT feminine; it's called being a responsible and loving parent.
