I should have listened to those telling me about avoiding Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness... but I didn't. I watched 1 and a half volume of the 2 I bought. And I feel like an idiot now... even worse with checking out stuff happening further into it.
Do you know the worst part? I actually did kinda enjoy it and like it at first... but the more I watched of it, the more I started to see the problems that went from passable and forgivable to... well, unpassable and unforgivable. -_- Just so some of the flaws won't confuse you - this show is supposed to take place between movie 1 and 2.

Let me throw out the biggest flaw right away, because it's a flaw no one but me would ever address anyway - they force almost every single damn character into becoming heterosexual! Shifu had an ex according to the show, Mr Ping has dated girls in the past and dates a scorpion lady in the show (so, a male duck would be too much for children for Ping to date... but a female scorpion? Oh, that's fine - can be any fucking thing as long as it's a female apparently), and Po gets from what I know a female owl loving him. How the FUCK dare they alter asexual characters into being heterosexuals?! No, HOW IN THE NAME OF FUCK DARE THEY?!! All this does is to further manipulate children into thinking they NEED to find someone of the opposite gender to get together with at some point. Homosexuals, asexuals...? Oh, fuck them - they don't exist apparently. Who cares if they scar probably a million of people of each generation for the rest of the life as long as they please the mainstream and get money... RIGHT?!

But holy shit, there's so much else. And it's all about how freakin' inconsistent the show is to the movies (and the shorts attached to them). I will give it this - Po is for the most likable in the show, I disagree with most haters on that. He is after all still developing to become as great as in the second movie, fighting and personality wise. But while he can sometimes be too weak to take on a powerful thug - there's this one episode where they establish HE is the most powerful of the Furious Five, and that the most powerful of them always became evil in the past (obviously, they realize at the end he isn't one of the Furious Five anyway... you know, which any idiot who can count to five and seen the first movie already would fucking know)... and that's the problem, he is shown to be the most powerful of them. Where the hell did this shit come from? He performs the most OP moves ever he NEVER uses in the second movie... and if he's the most powerful of them, why can't he get past Tigress in the second movie? HELLO?!!! You fucking braindead show writers - how could you forget one of the KEY SCENES of the movies?! Yes, Po learns a new amazing technique at the end of each movie - but those are the ones he learns, nothing else.
Another inconsistensy is that this show drags on to have a LOT of events going on, stretching for 2-3 seasons and further... and yet, Po says in the second movie - which IS a part of the trailer as well, mind you - that he "JUST GOT KUNG FU"... wouldn't that indicate that the second movie takes place maybe, say, one or two months after the first? Three at most? Because even half a year would be a stretch since he as said says he "JUST" got Kung Fu. And yet, the show makes it seem like it's taking well over a year since a LOT of shit happens.

And just little things here and there... like Mr Ping being more of a jerk and annoying here than in the show, even randomly going to places dress like a clown (seriously). Or hell, just like Po pulling out his Tigress action figure out of his ass for the sake of a stupid pointless joke of grabbing the wrong thing to show Tigress (he was going to show her a stone) - not only is it impossible for him to carry around that big fragile figure like that, but Tigress didn't get to see her action figure self Po made until the SECOND MOVIE.
The sad thing is that the voice acting is pretty great... and the animation CAN sometimes look good (except other times when it feels too choppy and awkward), so does some of the fights, and it IS cool to see them (in theory) expand the universe and let us get to know more characters and places. And dangit, I did expect some sort of message to be "learned" in each episode, and I felt prepared to tolerate it... but it gets SO contrived and stupid.

I've been telling so many times I prefer a universe to be expanded upon. But damnit, this show feels like a really half-assed fanfic. The two movies, the two shorts, and even the holiday special - those all feel like they belong to the same thing, and I love how all of them expands upon things for us. But this show? It's pointless, and it doesn't even look like it's made by the same people. Mr Ping and Viper has the same voice actors they had in the movies, but that's about it. Heck, even Po's design looks slightly different - ever noticed? Other than the fur being flat in the show, that is. In the movies, Po's eyes are slightly smaller, and his head is slightly more chubby and "bulky", with more visible and thick eyebrow-muscles. And even his hairstraws sticking up from his head are more streamlined in the movies than in the show. To be more concrete, this is Po in the movies: i92.photobucket.com/groups/l38… and this is Po in the show: nick.mtvnimages.com/nick-asset…
You can't excuse the budget on this I think. I've seen fanart ten times more close to the movie Po than this show is.

So... I don't know, maybe I could just get rid of the two volumes I bought on DVD and see them as non-canon shit? I really don't want to view it as being canon with the movies... I really don't. It destroyed so much of what I fell in love with... :'(
